Before founding City Fibers in 1984, David Terry Jones had accumulated more than 20 years of experience in the industry. When David Jones was 18, he went to work for his uncle’s recycling company, Schulken Brothers, which handled recovered paper materials from printing companies and other large manufacturers. After leaving Schulken, Jones went on to become General Manager at Consolidated, another waste management company, which, like Schulken dealt with pre-consumer industrial waste. Today, as the founder and CEO of City Fibers, David T. Jones employs more than 300 people in Southern California, and oversees the six recycling facilities that make up City Fibers Inc, the largest independently owned recycling company in Los Angeles.
